Biography

Alfred G. Smith is a Partner in the Miami office’s Corporate and Securities Department where he practices in the areas of securities, mergers and acquisitions and the formation and regulation of broker/dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds and commercial banks.

He regularly lectures in the areas of securities law and corporate law and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, the Business Volunteers for the Arts, the United Way Allocation Committee and the Securities Committee of the Florida Bar.

Mr. Smith represents both public and private companies in a wide range of corporate finance transactions, including equity and debt offerings, venture capital financing, and commercial lending. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions involving both public and private companies. Mr. Smith also advises public companies on corporate governance issues, executive compensation issues and compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002.
