Biography

Having focused on real estate transactions and title insurance claims work for many years, Barbara Richardson knows property title issues.  Although she has a background in litigation, she now handles transactions and uses her trial experience when representing clients.  She also handles claims for title insurance companies, including any transactional issues that may be required to cure the defect giving rise to the claim. 

In addition, Ms. Richardson is part of the Firm's Equine Law Practice Group.  She prepares and negotiates consignment agreements and leases for horses; leases and purchase agreements for polo, dressage and hunter/jumper barns; leases for residential/barn seasonal rentals during WEF (Winter Equestrian Festival), trainer-owner board and training contracts, and contracts and bills of sale for horse purchases. A seven-year equestrienne, she currently rides in the discipline of dressage and is learning to play polo.

Of Counsel to the firm, Ms. Richardson is based in the West Palm Beach office.

Experience

Ms. Richardson has developed a strong reputation in handling real estate and title insurance issues. She works with owners of both residential and commercial properties and serves title insurance companies around the State of Florida.  With her previous experience as a litigator, she is able to anticipate potential problems and act against them. She also works on resolving claims, drafting pleadings, advising other attorneys on real estate and title matters, and handling the transactional issues of various insurance cases.

In her practice, Ms. Richardson serves as an agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company, Attorneys' Title Insurance Fund, Inc., Commonwealth Land Title Company, First American Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Stewart Title Guaranty Company and Chicago Title Insurance Company.
