Biography

As an experienced real estate partner in a competitive property market, Daniel O'Keefe handles real estate and land use issues ranging from negotiating loans and government approvals, to dealing with regulatory agencies and handling concurrency issues for builders and developers. Co-Chairman of the firm's Real Estate Department, he focuses on large-scale projects for developers and home builders, both local and national. Mr. O’Keefe is a former banker and represents financial institutions in loan transactions as well as work out and restructuring transactions.

Having focused on Central Florida real estate for many years, Mr. O'Keefe's knowledge of the region and the industry was recognized by Governor Jeb Bush and Governor Charlie Crist, who appointed Mr. O'Keefe to the board of the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council.

In his practice, Mr. O'Keefe handles a broad range of development and land use issues for large-scale multi-use developments. These include school concurrency, traffic concurrency and entitlement issues. He also counsels hotels, apartments and restaurants through the challenges of financing, acquisitions, joint ventures and development.  Mr. O’Keefe actively supports several business and political groups in the area. In addition to serving as a board member of the West Orange Political Alliance, a political action committee representing its community, Mr. O'Keefe is an active member of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce. He was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior to the Wekiva River System Advisory Management Committee and is on the Board of Directors for the Smart Growth Alliance.
