Frederick B. O'Malley

Fred O’Malley is Shutts & Bowen’s Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for all of the financial and administrative functions of the firm.

Mr. O’Malley provides leadership and direction to the firm’s Office Administrators and Department Managers in accounting/finance, technology, human resources/benefits, marketing/recruiting and office services.  He is also responsible for recruiting, screening and validating all lateral partner candidates.  Mr. O’Malley is an Ex-Officio member of the Firm’s Executive Committee and an active member of the firm’s other management and administrative committees.

Mr. O’Malley has more than 25 years of executive legal management experience and has worked in medium and large law firms in the Northeast and South Florida.  This experience has provided him with exceptional knowledge in law firm mergers/acquisitions, relocations, new markets and practice areas and technology.

He is a graduate of West Virginia University and received his M.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
