Biography

A former Commercial Banker and General Counsel to a large real estate developer, John Strickroot understands the needs of his clients from a practical business perspective.  He represents clients in the areas of loan transactions, workouts and collection matters, acquisition and disposition of real estate and business interests, and real estate development.  Mr. Strickroot is a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Experience 

With over 20 years of legal experience, Mr. Strickroot concentrates his practice in complex commercial transactions, lender and borrower financing representation including sophisticated mezzanine/equity financing, restructured loan transactions, loan workouts, foreclosure and collection litigation support, and developer representation.

Throughout his legal career, Mr. Strickroot has handled a wide range of real estate transactional and litigation matters.  This includes negotiating and successfully closing on the acquisition and disposition of complex real estate transactions and financing transactions of all sizes for both buyers and sellers, lenders and borrowers.  His experience includes documenting and closing on both large and small loan transactions for lenders and borrowers, and handling over one hundred foreclosure and collection related litigation matters.

Background

Mr. Strickroot is the former President and General Counsel to a large real estate development company based in Sarasota, Florida and an internal auditor for a large Florida utility company, and prior to becoming an attorney was a commercial loan officer and branch manager for a large regional commercial bank.  He currently holds a Florida real estate license.
