Biography

Karen Wankelman is a partner in the firm’s Orlando office and practices in the Real Estate Group.  Ms. Wankelman primarily focuses her considerable transaction experience on real estate development and lending.  Ms. Wankelman negotiates and drafts documents for the acquisition, sale, leasing, financing and development of real estate.  She also represents lenders in complex loan workouts and foreclosures, as well as in commercial, construction and development loan transactions.  Representative projects include: ground leasing outparcels within the Millenia DRI; Thornton Park Central; 801 North Orange; and the new 100,000 square foot GAI office building in downtown Orlando.

Ms. Wankelman is an active member of the downtown Orlando and Baldwin Park communities.  She is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women and First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.  She is past Vice Chairperson of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee for the Florida Bar and was named one of 2002’s “Up and Comers” by the Orlando Business Journal.
