As a partner in the West Palm Beach Office and member of the Real Estate Practice Group, Neil B. Shoter has a nationwide commercial real estate practice concentrating in the area of commercial leasing law.  Mr. Shoter's practice encompasses the preparation and negotiation of office, retail, industrial and telecommunications facility leases, and advice on property management issues on behalf of both landlords and tenants. Mr. Shoter is also a registered architect with experience in all phases of the design, development and construction process, including the preparation and negotiation of construction and design consultant agreements for office, retail, and residential buildings. Mr. Shoter has received the LEED® Accredited Professional designation from the U.S. Green Building Council and advises on green leasing and sustainable development.

Mr. Shoter currently serves as Chair of the Landlord/Tenant Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, and Vice President/President Elect for the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  He was selected by the American Diabetes Association, Southeast Florida Chapter, as a 2011 Valor Award Honoree which acknowledges outstanding leadership and community service.

In 2007, Mr. Shoter was one of only two Shutts & Bowen attorneys recently mentioned in The Legal 500, an independent referral guide to the world's leading law firms and lawyers, and cited as an "impressive attorney" by his clients.

Mr. Shoter has lectured for the Florida Bar on "Green Leasing:  What every leasing lawyer should know about green and sustainable buildings."  He has authored various articles, including the South Florida Business Journal article “Sound Advice-Negotiating Better Lease Deals,” and has lectured on telecommunications issues in commercial leases.
