Peter M. Abreu

Peter Abreu joined Shutts & Bowen in 2002.  Shutts & Bowen, established in 1910, is a large Florida based law firm, headquartered in Miami, with 6 locations throughout Florida. Under his direction, the Technology Services Group has engineered the systems and solutions used by the firm. Shutts & Bowen has relied solely on its Technology Services Group for the implementation, training, programming and conversion associated with all its offices. Peter has over 25 years of law firm technology experience.

Prior to joining Shutts & Bowen, Peter began his career at the law offices of Mershon, Sawyer, Johnston, Dunwody & Cole, where he spent 14 years working with law firm technology. Peter then spent six years working with over 200 clients throughout South Florida, including law firms, supplying hardware, integration and consulting services, at AbreTek Systems, Inc., where he was President and a Senior Consultant.

Peter is experienced with complex computer networks and has been involved with Novell and Windows software since their inception. As a systems integrator, his services included both front and back office systems. He has extensive networking experience, including VoIP and 5GHz military-grade wireless technology. He is also proficient in many programming languages and database systems.

Peter received his Engineering degree from the University of Miami in 1988. Since then, Peter has received certifications from the Florida State Board of Professional Engineers, Novell, Microsoft and Cisco
