Biography

René González-LLorens' legal acumen and international experience are assets in his work on both employment matters and internationally related disputes. In his primary focus, he counsels businesses on labor and employment issues in the workplace and in the courtroom. For international clients, he seeks remedies in U.S. courts on a variety of commercial issues. He is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group and practices in the firm's Miami office.

Having worked with corporate employers for more than 15 years, Mr. González-LLorens has trial experience handling issues such as sexual harassment, race, national origin, gender, age and disability discrimination, housing discrimination and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. His record also includes work with whistle blower statutes, non-compete agreements, the National Labor Relations Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Outside of the courtroom, he counsels clients how to avoid claims of employment discrimination and offers day-to-day advice on employee investigations, discipline and discharge issues, and wage and hour requirements.

Mr. González-LLorens is actively involved in the community and pro bono projects.  He is legal counsel to the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired.  In addition, he was appointed by the Miami-Dade County Commission to the county advisory board responsible for enforcing Miami-Dade County's civil and human rights ordinance.
