Biography

Terry Fein represents clients in sophisticated real estate matters.  His clear analysis and strong communication skills helps clients understand and weigh the legal issues and risks involved in their transactions.  He is a partner in the Miami Real Estate Department.

Experience

Mr. Fein's 25-year focus on real estate includes issues ranging from acquisition, development and construction to financing. He primarily focuses on commercial real estate acquisitions and loans, commercial leasing, and documentary stamp tax and intangible tax issues. He also has experience representing lenders and loan servicers in workouts and securitized loans.

Mr. Fein has acted as local counsel for national companies and often works with developers, construction firms and lenders on Florida real estate matters.

Professional Activities

Mr. Fein has written various articles on real estate-related subjects. For The Florida Bar, he co-authored "Drafting and Negotiating Purchase and Sale Contracts for Commercial Properties," Chapter One, Florida Real Property Complex Transactions, published October 1993, updated 4th edition published February 2005, and also drafted "Amazing Grace: Is 'Borrower Liability' Next?" The Florida Bar Journal, April 1990. Other articles include "Landlord's Remedies Under Commercial Leases in Florida," Chapter One, Commercial Leases: Remedies and Enforcement, December 1989, for a seminar sponsored by CLE International.
