William P. Cassidy, Jr. is a partner in the Litigation Department in Shutts & Bowen’s Tampa office, where he represents management clients in employment law, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA, representation of employers before the NLRB on matters involving concerted activity, and both Florida and federal whistleblower laws. He also has extensive experience in other complex federal actions including litigating under Title III of the ADA, the Lanham Act, as well as general commercial disputes governed by federal and state law.
In addition to his experience in private practice, Mr. Cassidy was a law clerk for the Honorable James D. Whittemore, Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Mr. Cassidy received his J.D. from The University of North Carolina School of Law where he served as Circulation Editor on the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation and authored “Universal Service in a Competitive Telecommunications Environment,” 25 N.C.J. Int’l. L. & Com. Reg. 108. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with distinction in 1996 earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in History.
