A former banker and General Counsel to a large real estate developer, John Strickroot understands the needs of his clients from a practical business perspective. He represents clients in the areas of loan transactions and financing, acquisition and disposition of real estate and business interests, and real estate development. Mr. Strickroot is a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s West Palm Beach office, where he is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group.
Experience
With nearly 20 years of legal experience, Mr. Strickroot concentrates his practice in complex commercial transactions, lender and borrower representation (including sophisticated mezzanine/equity financing, restructured loan transactions, workout loans and foreclosure litigation support), financing and developer representation.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Strickroot has handled a wide range of real estate transactional and litigation matters. This includes negotiating and successfully closing on the acquisition and disposition of complex real estate transactions of all sizes for both buyers and sellers. His experience includes documenting and closing on both large and small loan transactions for lenders and borrowers, and handling over one hundred foreclosure and collection related litigation matters.
Background
Mr. Strickroot is the former President and General Counsel to a large real estate development company and, prior to becoming an attorney, was a commercial loan officer and branch manager for a large regional commercial bank. He currently holds a Florida real estate license.
