Kathleen Krak is a partner in the Orlando office, where she is a member of the Construction Litigation Practice Group representing developers, professionals, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in various stages of the construction process including preliminary contract negotiations, protection of lien rights, alternative dispute resolutions, mediation and litigation.
Ms. Krak's experience includes matters relating to contract and warranty disputes, delay and defect issues, environmental and geotechnical related professional negligence claims, as well as defense and enforcement of payment and performance bonds for both private and public projects. Ms. Krak also handles matters dealing with debt collection, mortgage foreclosures, and commercial landlord/tenant disputes, as well as seminar presentations to clients and professional groups relating to contract negotiations and enforcement. Additionally, she represents individuals and entities on matters pending before Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Prior to joining Shutts & Bowen, Ms. Krak served as a prosecutor for the Pinellas County State Attorney’s Office, and thereafter represented law enforcement and municipalities in both state and federal litigation.
