Biography

Several factors attest to William ("Bill") Grant's expertise in construction litigation: a 16-year track record and industry recognition, board certification as a specialist in Construction Law, and a top rating from his peers in the Martindale-Hubbell legal directory.  As a partner in the Orlando office, Mr. Grant practices commercial litigation with a focus on construction and surety law.  His experience ranges from complex disputes and defect claims to lien foreclosures and contract preparation.

Mr. Grant is one of less than 150 attorneys in the state with Florida Bar board certification in construction law. His focus on this specialized field has allowed him to work closely with clients on a diverse range of issues. His work includes construction litigation, litigation avoidance, bid protests, contract negotiations, licensing, and other construction issues. He has also handled many successful appeals in both state and federal courts of appeal. Clients from across the state include contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, sureties, public and private owners/developers, and construction material suppliers.

Mr. Grant frequently lectures at seminars on various issues affecting the construction industry. Recent topics have included the Florida Construction Lien Law, construction contracts, delay and disruption claims, the Economic Loss Rule, public contracting, bonding, legislative issues and collections on behalf of construction material suppliers. He has also published numerous articles on construction topics for bar and construction trade association publications.
