Biography

Matthew Chait is a litigation attorney in West Palm Beach, where he counsels businesses both in and out of court.  Mr. Chait handles a wide variety of commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on real estate litigation. He advises clients in matters including contract disputes, landlord-tenant matters, title defects and fraud. Mr. Chait frequently represents financial institutions, non-institutional lenders and special servicers in complex commercial foreclosures and suits on personal guaranties.

Background

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chait practiced law in New York. He also served as an intern in the Staff Attorney’s Office of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and as an intern for the Honorable Richard Conway Casey, United States District Judge, Southern District of New York.

Publications

While attending Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Mr. Chait was an editor of the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law.  He is the author of "Renvoi in Multinational Cases in New York Courts: Does Its Past Preclude Its Future?" 11 Cardozo J. Int’l & Comp. L. 143 (2003).
