J. Gregory Humphries is Chairman of Shutts & Bowen’s Corporate Transactions Department and is a partner in the firm’s Orlando office. He is a member of the Partners’ Compensation Committee and an essential participant in the firm’s Management Team.
Mr. Humphries represents and counsels public, private and non-profit companies in mergers and acquisitions, private placements, “spin-offs,” public offerings, complex transactional matters and general corporate matters. In addition to his extensive practice in the areas of corporate mergers and acquisitions and related corporate, securities and tax work, he also has an established practice in estate planning matters.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Humphries has represented clients in corporate matters in a myriad of industries including automotive, electronic, industrial, environmental, interactive technology, hospitality and financial investments.
Mr. Humphries received his law degree from the College of William and Mary in 1981. While at the College of William and Mary, he was a member of the Law Review and was Order of the Coif. He received his B.B.A. in Accounting from Stetson University in 1978.
