Mark Hobson is a partner in Shutts & Bowen's Miami office and a member of the firm's Corporate Practice Group.
Mr. Hobson represents both foreign and domestic corporations, partnerships, other business entities and individuals in a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, complex purchase and distribution arrangements, commercial finance, joint ventures, secured lending (including Export-Import Bank guaranteed and insured transactions), international transactional matters, corporate governance, and trademark, technology, licensing and copyright matters. He practiced in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 1994 to 1998 and speaks Portuguese.
While Mr. Hobson was at the Florida State University School of Law, he was the managing editor of the Journal of Transnational Law and Policy. He also studied International and Comparative Law in Brussels, Belgium.
Mr. Hobson has written several articles regarding Brazilian business and international matters and is a frequent lecturer on topics relating to Article 9 of the UCC. He has been an active volunteer in the community and has served on the United Way's Impact Council for Promoting Econominic Independence.
