A former professional athlete, Arnold (“Arnie”) Berman transferred his achievements on the basketball court to the courtroom. A litigator who has successfully handled multi-million dollar cases, he now uses his skill and experience to lead the entire firm. He was the Managing Partner of Shutts & Bowen LLP for more than ten years and is the Chairman of the West Palm Beach Litigation Department.
Experience
During nearly 30 years in practice, Mr. Berman has counseled clients and resolved disputes in various areas of law. Although probate, trust and guardianship cases are his central focus, he also handles litigation involving commercial law, real estate, banking foreclosures, healthcare law, and products liability.
Mr. Berman’s strong track record is based on his success in large, commercial disputes for national clients. This includes several multi-million dollar cases involving loss-of-profit claims, damage claims and probate, trust and guardianship disputes. Other examples include large commercial property foreclosures for leading institutions in finance and insurance, as well as the defense of catastrophic product liability and personal injury disputes.
Background
While at Brown University, Mr. Berman was awarded an NCAA post-graduate scholarship, as well as the Brown University Class of 1907 Award for his academic and athletic achievement. In basketball, he was named to the Academic All-America, All-East, All-Ivy League, and All-New England teams, and earned Honorable Mention All-America honors. He was drafted by the NBA as well and still holds many of the scoring records at Brown University.
