Biographies

Mrs. Stobs began her career as a civil litigation paralegal in 1988.  Her experience in this area includes preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses thereto; cataloging, organizing, and maintaining documents/exhibits in response to discovery and/or preparation for trial; reviewing and summarizing depositions; legal research; investigative research; and trial preparation.

In 1992 Mrs. Stobs was presented with a career opportunity, which included both civil litigation matters and real estate transactions.  After four years of working in this dual role, Mrs. Stobs decided that she preferred to concentrate her career in the area of real property law.

Mrs. Stobs brings to the Shutts & Bowen Real Estate Department 15 years of real estate knowledge in the areas of commercial, residential, and loan transactions.  In this capacity, she prepares closing documents, performs title searches, prepares title commitments and policies, prepares initial drafts of title opinions, reviews surveys, performs all facets involved in satisfying due diligence matters, reviews and abstracts commercial leases, attends closings, and addresses post closing matters.  Mrs. Stobs’ real estate experience gives her the ability to take any transaction from inception to closing.

Carrie Stobs received her Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Florida International University in 1989, and graduated, summa cum laude from Barry University in 2002 where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Mrs. Stobs is fluent in Spanish.
