Shelly Wald Speaks at American Lung Association Luncheon
Apr 29, 2009
April 29, 2009 - Shelly Wald, a member of Shutts & Bowen’s Trusts & Estates Department, spoke on estate planning in the current economic climate. The seminar, titled “Healthy, Wealthy & Wise,” was filled to capacity and addressed issues ranging from ways to improve home air quality (the “healthy”) to learning how to protect a person’s property and identity (the “wise”). Ms. Wald discussed the estate planning topics (the "wealthy”) and focused on two main considerations: First, she addressed ways to ensure that an estate plan will function as it was originally intended given the changes in individuals’ financial situations as well as the changing circumstances of those individuals’ loved ones who are to benefit from the plans. Second, she discussed estate tax planning opportunities that arise as a result of the less than stellar economic conditions of the day. Other speakers included Palm Beach County’s Sheriff, Ric L. Bradshaw, and Andrew J. Cuddihy from the American Lung Association.
Ms. Wald works with individuals and families of high net worth and is one of a limited number of Florida attorneys who is Board Certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates, by the Florida Bar. She focuses exclusively on estate planning and trust and estate administration in Shutts & Bowen's West Palm Beach office, and has broad experience in this field.
