May 13, 2008

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (April 29, 2008) — Shutts & Bowen LLP attorneys Victoria Beatty, Suzanne Driscoll and Stephen K. Tilbrook participated in the Fort Lauderdale High School law magnet program Career Day on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.

The Fort Lauderdale High School law magnet program is a college preparatory program for students interested in careers in Law, Criminal Justice, and Public Affairs, and gives students access to governmental agencies located in Fort Lauderdale. As part of the program, students participate in mock trials in a courtroom setting, and visit the Broward County Courthouse to observe ongoing trials.

The only law firm participant, Shutts & Bowen, in partnership with the T.J. Reddick Bar Association, helped recruit the range of legal practitioners, including a Broward County judge, former public defender, and law firm partners and administrators to speak about careers in law.

Sidney C. Calloway, a partner at Shutts & Bowen and former T.J. Reddick Bar Association President said, “While we are giving students practical information about careers in the law, we are also given a great opportunity to begin our law firm recruiting, meeting students who are excited about careers in a law firm.”

Mr. Calloway, Mr. Tillbrook and Ms. Driscoll are partners and Ms. Beatty is an associate. All are based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. Mr. Calloway’s practice focuses on governmental litigation. Mr. Tillbrook’s practice focuses on land use, environmental and governmental regulation. Ms. Driscoll’s practice focuses on eminent domain, particularly inverse condemnation. Ms. Beatty’s practice focuses on business litigation.
