Robert C. Brighton, Jr. Joins Fort Lauderdale Office
PDF VersionRobert C. Brighton, Jr. has joined Shutts & Bowen as a Partner in its Corporate Transactions Group, announced Joseph D. Bolton, the firm’s Managing Partner.
His more than 25 years of experience in
securities law and mergers and acquisitions include a variety of capital
market transactions representing U.S. and international issuers and
financial sources, in matters ranging from initial public offerings by
emerging companies to offerings of sophisticated financial products by
Fortune 500 corporations. His clients include start-up companies,
private equity, venture capital and hedge funds, insurance companies,
banks, broker-dealers and other financial institutions, healthcare and
biotechnology companies, and electric and other utilities, among other
concerns.
“Rob’s experience fills a need in our Lauderdale office,”
said Allan Rubin, Fort Lauderdale’s Office Managing Partner. “We have
been looking for someone with the right mix of corporate, finance and
governmental experience to complement our existing practice and Rob is
that person.”
In addition to having a robust legal practice, Mr. Brighton is active in Bar and community matters. He is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Business Law: Ad Hoc Committee on Audit Responses; Ad Hoc Committee on Corporate Compliance; Committee on Corporate Governance; Committee on Federal Securities Regulation; Committee on Legal Opinions; The Florida Bar Committee on Corporations, Securities and Financial Services, and a past Chair of the Committee on Relations with the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accounts and CPAs. He is also the President and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Corporate Growth, South Florida Chapter, and an active member of the Turn Around Management Association, Florida Venture Forum and South Florida Technology Alliance, among other organizations.
Mr. Brighton writes and speaks extensively on corporate matters. He is a graduate of the Vanderbilt School of Law, where he served as Associate Articles Editor of the Law Review and Duke University, where he was an A.B. Duke at Oxford Scholar.
