Joseph M. Goldstein Speaks on Procurement Issues

Joseph M. Goldstein, a partner in Shutts & Bowen's Fort Lauderdale Litigation Department and Florida Bar Board Certified in Business Litigation, is participating in two conferences on procurement issues.

On April 30, 2007, he addressed the 40th Annual Conference of the Florida Association of Public Purchasing Officers (FAPPO) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.FAPPO's membership consists of almost 1100 procurement professionals representing more than 300 agencies throughout the State of Florida. At this conference, entitled "Journey to Learning," Mr. Goldstein talked about recent bid protest cases and changes to the Florida Public Records and Open Meeting - or Sunshine - Laws that may affect the right to access procurement documents and how government contractors and procurement officers will be affected by such cases and laws.

Mr. Goldstein is also participating in the American Bar Association's Second Annual State and Local Procurement Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee. On May 19, 2007, he will be part of a panel discussing "Critics, Hecklers, and Bad Press - Current Issues in Controversy" where the topics include ethics, compliance, disputes and litigation.
