Shutts Partners Join MDFAWL for Power Lunch Hour PresentationOn Wednesday, February 24, the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (MDFAWL) hosted their 2021 Zoom Litigation Skills Workshop Kickoff Event, Power Lunch Hour: An Insightful Discussion with Powerful Women Jurists. The webinar addressed the professional adaptations to the virtual legal world, work/life balance, and legal practice tips. More than 50 judges, lawyers, and law students attended the panel event presented through Zoom.

The event was moderated by Shutts & Bowen Miami partner Kristin Drecktrah Paz, President-Elect of MDFAWL. Miami partner Aliette D. Rodz participated as a panelist, along with Judge Bronwyn Miller of the Third District Court of Appeal, Nikki Lewis-Simon, and Elisa D’Amico.

MDFAWL is a volunteer bar association dedicated to actively promoting the advancement of women in the legal profession, expanding the leadership role of its members in the community at large, and promoting women’s rights. The organization is also committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and providing equal opportunities for participation and support to people of any gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, and socioeconomic background.

About Kristin Drecktrah Paz

Kristin Drecktrah Paz is a Partner in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen, where she is a member of the International Arbitration and Litigation Practice Group. Kristin specializes in international and complex dispute resolution, including commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, and international litigation. Kristin is incoming President-Elect of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, serves on the Executive Council of the International Law Section of The Florida Bar, and is a past Chair of the International Energy and Natural Resources Committee of the American Bar Association Section of International Law.

Aliette DelPozo Rodz is a partner in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she is a member of the International Dispute Resolution Practice Group and Chair of the Cuba Task Force and the firm's Diversity Committee. She is Chair of the firm's Focus on Women Group.
