The Antitrust Practice Group of Shutts & Bowen is a team of attorneys who handle antitrust issues at both state and national levels.  We help clients steer clear of any conflicts before corporate actions and help preserve any possible remedies if facing charges.

In antitrust litigation, we pride ourselves on asking the right questions, speaking to the right people, identifying the right tactics and organizing it all into a comprehensive case.  We also look closely at the client’s actions in the market, paying careful attention to economic policy issues and how a company affects consumer welfare.

It is important to be both reactive and proactive to serve our clients well.  We first advise clients who are considering mergers or other actions about potential antitrust issues.  We then help them minimize the risk of litigation.  Once a deal is signed, we work with relevant authorities to gain approval of the deal.
Our team has represented clients against the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General of Florida.  Overall, we advise clients on proactive measures, help build compliance programs and pursue litigation for companies such as:
