Shutts & Bowen Expands Construction Practice with Lateral Partner Hire Frank Moya

Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of both the Construction Practice Group and the Jacksonville office with the addition of Partner Frank T. Moya.

A life-long Tampa resident, Frank has relocated his practice to Shutts & Bowen’s Jacksonville office to better serve his clients, which include the region’s largest publicly-traded homebuilder. Frank’s addition to the Jacksonville office also expands the firm’s capabilities throughout Northeast Florida and the overall breadth of the firm’s growing construction practice group. He represents businesses and individuals, including general contractors, owners, volume homebuilders and design professionals in matters related to construction disputes and civil litigation, including construction defect disputes, payment and lien foreclosure actions, claims involving breach of contract, indemnity, breach of express and implied warranties, building code violations, payment disputes, deceptive and unfair trade practices, delay claims and various negligence claims. With personal and professional roots in both the Tampa and Jacksonville markets, Frank counsels clients from a broad range of industries, including the construction, banking and finance, real estate and insurance sectors.

“Frank is an accomplished litigator and brings a wealth of knowledge to further deepen our group’s bench,” said Timothy D. Woodward, leader of Shutts & Bowen’s Construction Practice Group. “With his addition to the team, we continue to expand our footprint in the Jacksonville area.”

“We are pleased to welcome Frank to our ever-growing Jacksonville office and we look forward to supporting his efforts in Northeast Florida and beyond,” said H. Timothy Gillis, Jacksonville Managing Partner.

Frank has been recognized among “Florida’s Rising Stars” by Super Lawyers Magazine. He is a member of the Northeast Florida Builders Association and previously served as Pro Bono Chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Construction Law Section, as well as CLE Committee Co-Chair of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar. Frank is a graduate of Leadership Tampa (Class of 2020), as well as the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Leadership Institute (Class of 2016).

Frank is admitted to practice law in Florida. He earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law.
