Arthur J. Furia, an international business partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Miami office, recently hosted a private luncheon on behalf of the firm to welcome American Airlines’ Christine Valls and celebrate her promotion at American.
Valls, a Miami native, was recently named Managing Director of Sales for Florida, Latin America, the Caribbean and the U.S. She previously served as the airline’s Regional Sales Director of Mexico, Central and South America. In her new role as Managing Director, Valls is responsible for leading the airline’s passenger sales revenue and corporate relationships in these markets.
More than 30 business, cultural and community leaders attended the luncheon, held in Shutts’ Miami office on Tuesday, June 4. Community leaders in attendance included Maria Alonso, President of the United Way; Wendy Kallergis, President of the Greater Miami & The Beaches Hotel Association; Dr. Lenore Rodicio, Vice President & Provost of Miami Dade College; Judge Migna Sanchez-Llorens, Circuit Court Judge; Pamela Fuertes, Economic Development Director for the City of Coral Gables; and Mark Cole, Executive Director of the Miami Dade College Foundation. Other attendees included current and former American Airlines representatives, including Peter Vittori, retiring Managing Director of Sales for Florida, Latin America, the Caribbean and the U.S. who Ms. Valls replaced; Domenico Matinata, Regional Sales Director; and Lina Santiago, Manager of Customer Engagement & Planning for Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean.
