John R. Rutledge is an Associate in the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Governmental Law Practice Group.

John focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including eminent domain and disputes related to contracts and general business matters. John has successfully litigated complex commercial matters in both state and federal courts. He has experience in drafting and arguing substantive motions, as well as trial preparation.  John also has successfully resolved complex cases through both mediation and international arbitration.

John earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he served on the Executive Board of the UF Moot Court Team. During law school, John served as a summer intern for the Honorable Melanie May of the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal.
