Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Tallahassee Office Managing Partner, Ben Gibson, has been reappointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to the First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission. His term will run through July 1, 2027.

The judicial nomination process plays an integral role in maintaining the strength and integrity of Florida’s judiciary through nominating well-qualified individuals to the Governor for appointment to the bench. In making the reappointment, Governor DeSantis expressed the utmost confidence in Ben’s ability to serve faithfully in this important role, reflecting his continued commitment to public service and to supporting the rule of law in Florida.

Ben Gibson is Managing Partner of the Tallahassee office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Governmental Law practice group. Ben represents clients facing high-stakes legal issues at the intersection of business, politics, and government. His statewide practice focuses on representing corporate, political, and government clients in appellate, litigation, and administrative matters as well as government affairs.
