Charla Burchett Named to Impact100 SRQ Advisory Task Force

Charla M. Burchett, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Sarasota office, was recently named to a leadership position on Impact100 SRQ’s newly formed Advisory Task Force.

In her role on the Advisory Task Force, Charla will apply her wealth of legal experience to provide general subject matter expertise to support the Impact100 SRQ Board of Directors as needed. Charla is a founding member of Impact100 SRQ and serves the organization not just through philanthropic means, but also as a Focus Area Committee Member. The Focus Area Committee determines the finalists who present their requests at the Annual Meeting and Grant Awards Celebration, where the members award grants of a minimum of $100,000 to local nonprofit organizations, in support of their presented transformational initiative impacting Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Impact100 SRQ is one of more than sixty chapters worldwide and joins its sister chapters in embracing the local collective giving model. Formed in 2018, Impact100 SRQ brings together a diverse group of women that annually fund transformational grants to local nonprofits in both Sarasota and Manatee Counties.  The model is simple. At least 100 women each give a $1,000 tax deductible donation, and together they collectively award grants in increments of at least $100,000 to local nonprofits in five focus areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment & Recreation, Family and Health & Wellness.  Each member’s annual donation strengthens the power of giving and funds the innovative projects that make a high “Impact” and sustainable difference in our community.
