Dana Goldman Hosts Condo Rights WorkshopSunny Isles Beach City Commissioner Dana Goldman, Of Counsel to the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, recently hosted a Condo Rights Workshop. Dana was joined by Shutts partner Amanda Buffinton, a partner in the Tampa office who is Florida Bar Board Certified in Construction Law.

During the presentation, titled “What All Condo Residents Should DEMAND from their Associations Post-Surfside Tragedy,” Dana and Amanda discussed with attendees how to assess their building’s structural condition and their association’s financial condition. They also gave their perspectives on governance, transparency and accountability.

Dana Goldman is of counsel in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen, where she is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. Dana represents national and regional homebuilders with the development of their condominiums and planned development communities, including covenant drafting, special disclosures, Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes (Condominium) and Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act) filings and secondary mortgage market financing.

About Amanda B. Buffinton

Amanda B. Buffinton is a partner in the Tampa office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she is a member of the Construction Litigation Practice Group. A Martindale Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney, Amanda is also Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar. Amanda specializes in the litigation and arbitration of complex claims related to professional negligence and design errors and omissions. She has also successfully represented clients in construction claims involving personal injury and death, federal investigations relating to the False Claims Act, delay and acceleration damages, bond and lien issues, professional licensure, building code violations and ADA violations. Amanda has extensive federal court experience and has litigated a multitude of construction and commercial claims in the Northern, Middle and Southern District Courts of Florida including the successful defense of a large class action suit against an international testing company.
