Deedee Bitran, an attorney in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Fort Lauderdale office, was recently a panelist at Florida International University’s Diversity and Intersectionality Panel, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

The event was held in the Rafael Dian-Balart Law Building and was run by the Stonewall Legal Alliance, the Black Law Student Association, the Hispanic Law Student Association and the Jewish Law Student Association. During the event, Deedee and her co-panelists discussed maintaining different parts of their identities in the legal field, challenges they have faced as different minorities, opportunities to help further positive change in the world, and the impact of the new federal laws for advancing women in the workforce (the PUMP Act and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act).
