Derrick Valkenburg Speaks at The FICPA Construction Industry Conference

Derrick Valkenburg, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, recently spoke during a panel discussion for the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) Construction Industry Conference (CIC), discussing best practices in the construction industry.

During the panel discussion, Derrick shared his insights on national and state legislative issues and economic factors affecting the construction industry’s labor and supply chain issues, as well as current issues affecting construction contracts and other construction risk management tips. The “Best Practices in the Construction Industry” panel was held on October 21, 2022, and featured Derrick as well as co-panelists, Dan Levine (High Road Construction), Paul Ciambriello (Merchants Binding Company) and Terri Richards (Kaufman Rossin & Co P.A.). Derrick M. Valkenburg is a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP's Orlando office, where he is a member of the Construction Litigation Practice Group. Derrick's practice focuses on construction, commercial and real property litigation. He often represents developers, contractors, material suppliers, and design professionals in disputes involving construction defect claims, delay claims, construction lien issues, contract disputes, and insurance coverage issues.
