Derrick Valkenburg to Present Construction Pointers at Upcoming Florida CCIM Meeting

Derrick M. Valkenburg, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, will speak at an upcoming Florida CCIM Central District Chapter Marketing Session on Friday, May 14, 2021.

During the session, Derrick will discuss practical pointers for construction and development projects in connection with commercial real estate transactions. He will present before prominent commercial real estate professionals from the Central Florida area, as well as CCIM members and non-members.

The CCIM Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors, confers the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation (CCIM) to commercial real estate professionals who have extensive training and industry experience and complete a rigorous study program. According to the organization, the Florida Chapter CCIM is the largest CCIM Chapter in the United States, with the Central District (representing approximately 190 Central Florida members) being the largest of the eight districts in the Florida Chapter.

Derrick M. Valkenburg is a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, where he is a member of the Construction Litigation Practice Group. Derrick’s practice focuses on construction, commercial and real property litigation. He often represents developers, contractors, material suppliers, and design professionals in disputes involving construction defect claims, delay claims, construction lien issues, contract disputes, and insurance coverage issues.
