Derrick M. Valkenburg, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, will be presenting before the Central Florida Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) on January 27, 2021, discussing important legal considerations for construction leaders in 2021.

At the educational program, Derrick will present “Building a Better 2021: Top Tax and Legal Considerations for Construction Leaders,” with co-speakers, Peter Hilera and Ray Bastin (Withum). With an emphasis on the latest Florida legal and tax developments affecting the construction industry, Derrick and his co-speakers will dive into post-election financial planning and legal best practices for the new year during this interactive lunch and learn. Owners, CFOs, CEOs and Controllers will also learn about the top takeaways to mitigate legal liability in 2021, as well as expected tax law changes.

Derrick M. Valkenburg is a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, where he is a member of the Construction Litigation Practice Group. Derrick’s practice focuses on construction, commercial and real property litigation.
