Eric Reed Speaks at 2022 OCBA Professionalism Awards Ceremony

Eric Reed, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office and President of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA), recently presented at the OCBA annual Professionalism Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Orange County Courthouse.

Eric led the beginning of the ceremony by welcoming the attendees and congratulating the evening’s recipients of the Professionalism Awards. Eric also introduced the event’s keynote speaker, Michael G. Tanner, President of The Florida Bar. Following the keynote speech, additional speakers introduced the 2022 award recipients, Michael D. Barber, Esq. (Lawrence G. Mathews, Jr. Young Lawyer Professionalism Award Recipient), John W. Foster, Esq. (William Trickel, Jr. Professionalism Award Recipient), and the Honorable Reginald K. Whitehead (James G. Glazebrook Memorial Bar Service Award Recipient). Eric also completed ceremony with closing remarks.

The William Trickel, Jr. and the Lawrence G. Mathews, Jr. Young Lawyer Professionalism Award recipients, who are nominated by their peers, are attorneys whose conduct and career stands as a model of success built on unquestioned professionalism. Trickel Award winners have practiced law for 15 or more years, while Mathews Award winners have practiced law for less than 15 years. The James G. Glazebrook Memorial Bar Service Award is presented to a state or federal jurist who best demonstrates service to and support of the legal profession and the Legal Aid Society of the OCBA, is dedicated to professionalism both in and out of the courtroom, and is a leader in promoting professionalism, including civility, integrity, and respect for the legal system.

About Eric C. Reed

Eric Reed is a partner in the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. Eric combines his trial experience and communications skills in disputes involving commercial litigation, construction litigation, commercial landlord/tenant litigation, commercial and consumer collections and replevins, mortgage and lien foreclosures, and general lender representation. Currently, Eric serves as President of the Orange County Bar Association. He also serves as a board member of the Orange County Bar Association Legal Aid Society, the Orange County Bar Foundation and he previously chaired the Orange County Bar Association Judicial Relations Committee.
