Lauren Millcarek Reappointed to the Florida Bar’s Governmental and Public Policy Advocacy Committee

Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce that Lauren L. Millcarek, a Senior Associate in the firm’s Orlando office, has been appointed to continue serving on The Florida Bar’s Governmental and Public Policy Advocacy Committee, with a term beginning on July 1, 2020.

Lauren, who has served on the Committee since 2019, was reappointed to her position by The Florida Bar President. As the Orlando Federal Bar Association’s Immediate Past President and as an At-Large member of the Ninth Judicial Circuit’s Professionalism Panel, Lauren finds herself well prepared to continue to serve the Committee for another term.

The scope and function of the Governmental and Public Policy Advocacy Committee is to promote professionalism and provide applicable legal education, mentoring, networking opportunities and a platform for open discussion among lawyer-lobbyists. The Committee is directed at lawyers who represent clients before the Legislature, executive branch agencies, local governments, and quasi-judicial government forums.

Lauren L. Millcarek is a senior attorney in the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. Lauren focuses her practice on federal court litigation. Lauren is experienced in business and financial services litigation; class action and multidistrict litigation; whistleblower and fraud investigation and litigation; disputes involving debt collection, consumer solicitation, and trade practices; and cases involving theft of trade secrets and confidential information. Lauren is an active member of the Orlando legal community and a leader in the federal bar. She serves as Immediate Past President of the Orlando Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and Chair of the Grievance Committee of the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division. She also serves as Treasurer of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
