Matt Chait discusses COVID19 legislation with Florida PoliticsIn a legislative update provided by Florida Politics, West Palm Beach partner Matthew Chait discussed pandemic-related legislation and the COVID-19 lawsuit protection bill signed by Governor Ron DeSantis on March 29, 2021.

Matt, who is a litigation partner as well as a member of the firm’s COVID-19 Response Team, discussed the type of issues clients have come across because of the pandemic.

“[Most] of our attorneys have had to deal with some kind of COVID-related issue whether it’s related to assisting clients with PPP loans [or] advising clients on their role as employers through many employment questions,” Matt told the publication. “COVID has created issues over landlord-tenant disputes, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, where tenants have been unable to pay rent due to lockdown orders and retailers being closed. Those are just some examples of some of the COVID-related issues we’ve dealt with.”
