Ryan Reinert Discusses Commercial Evictions with Tampa Bay Business Journal

Ryan C. Reinert, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Tampa office, was recently quoted in a Tampa Bay Business Journal (TBBJ) article discussing the possible wave of commercial tenant evictions over the coming weeks.

The article offers insight from local attorneys on the expected surge of commercial evictions on the horizon as government aid and the state’s moratorium on evictions end. In addition to the PPP loans authorized under the CARES Act, the article discusses the confusion landlords and tenants have faced with related executive orders. Ryan addresses how the executive orders have been interpreted by both commercial tenants and landlords, as well as early hesitation of commercial landlords to move forward with eviction proceedings.
