Lee Nelson Named New Co-Chairman of Statewide Real Estate Practice Group

Shutts & Bowen is pleased to announce that Lee E. Nelson has been appointed Co-Chairman of the Firm’s statewide Real Estate Practice Group. “Founded in 1910, Shutts & Bowen has had a preeminent real estate practice and I am eager to serve the Firm in this statewide role,” says Mr. Nelson, a partner in the firm’s Tampa office.  Since joining the Firm in 2007, Shutts & Bowen’s Tampa office has grown to over 40 attorneys, with the Firm having approximately 250 attorneys in most of Florida’s major cities.

Mr. Nelson negotiates and structures sophisticated matters for New York Stock Exchange and closely-held companies, as well as multinational, national and Florida-based businesses regarding real estate assets of all classes.  Mr. Nelson also leads the Tampa offices’ real estate team and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers and Tampa’s Legal Leaders. He is active in the community, currently serves as the Co-Chair of Public Policy and as an Executive Committee Member of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, and is a Board Member and Officer of the Real Estate Investment Council and the Tampa-Bay Economic Development Corporation.  He is a past recipient of the Pro Bono Community Counsel Award from the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Nehemiah Award for Distinguished Community Service from the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa, Inc.

Mr. Nelson received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University.
