Michael Kaney Appointed Vice Chair of Resource Development for The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida’s Club Blue

Michael Patrick Kaney, an attorney in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, was recently appointed Vice Chair of Resource Development, in support of Club Blue, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida’s (BGCCF) leadership development program for young professionals.

As Vice Chair, Michael will lead Club Blue’s Resource Development Committee as they engage, cultivate and assist in solicitations and donations to ensure the success of resource development fundraising for the Boy & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. Michael is also a founding board member of Club Blue’s Executive Leadership Board, which he has served on since 2019.

Club Blue is a philanthropic association comprised of young Central Florida professionals (ages 21-35) whose goal is to support the mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida by extending their time, talent and resources to the organization, ultimately making a difference in the lives of the youth that BGCCF serves. The Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida established this board of emerging leaders to better impact the more than 16,000 youth that are served at thirty-four club sites across seven counties (Brevard, Lake, Nassau, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Sumter).

Michael Patrick Kaney is an attorney in the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Business Litigation practice group. Michael’s practice focuses on complex business, construction, and administrative litigation matters. Michael represents businesses and individuals in disputes involving commercial litigation, commercial and residential landlord/tenant litigation, commercial collections and lien foreclosures. Michael earned his Juris Doctor from Florida State University (magna cum laude) where he was President of the Florida State University Moot Court and Staff Editor of the Florida State University Law Review. Michael earned book awards in Civil Procedure, Family Law, Employment Law, and Criminal Law. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a summer associate in the firm’s Orlando and Tallahassee offices.
