Michelle Humes, a partner in the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen was featured in the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s Spotlight on Flex. The monthly feature showcases professionals from member organizations who exemplify personal and professional success while working a flexible schedule.
Michelle spoke on the benefits of a flexible schedule and its importance on a healthy work-life balance. When she began attending law school, she was the assistant to the firm’s Construction Litigation Practice Group Leader. With the support of the firm, she continued to work full time and began the evening law school program at Barry University. After graduating, Michelle was hired as an associate in the Construction Litigation Practice Group and after three years, transitioned to the Real Estate Practice Group.
“Flex gives me the ability to complete my work whether or not I’m in the office and has allowed me to thrive professionally. Flex also allows me to spend quality time with my family and keep the balance I need to be happy and, in turn, successful,” said Michelle.
The firm joined the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance in March 2018.
