Steve Tilbrook Elected Chair of Downtown Council of Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce

Shutts & Bowen Partner, Stephen K. Tilbrook, was elected Chair of the Downtown Council of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and he was also appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.

The Downtown Council’s mission is to organize, support and advance measures aimed at improving the business conditions, appearance and facilities of the downtown area of Fort Lauderdale and to cooperate with all organizations having the same or similar objectives.   Mr. Tilbrook’s term began May 1, 2011 and extends to December 31, 2012.

Mr. Tilbrook resides in the Fort Lauderdale office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, and his practice is focused in the areas of environmental law, land use law, urban redevelopment and governmental relations.

Mr. Tilbrook is also active in several other community and civic organizations in Fort Lauderdale.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale Trust, the Editorial Board for the Go Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale magazine,  and he is active in the Marine Industries Association of South Florida.  In addition, Mr. Tilbrook is a former member of the Fort Lauderdale Marine Advisory Board,  the Fort Lauderdale Beach Redevelopment Advisory Board, the Fort Lauderdale Historic Preservation Board and the Board of Directors of the Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Inc.
