Woodrow Pollack Appointed as a Member of the Florida Blockchain Task Force

Tampa partner Woodrow “Woody” Pollack has been appointed as a member of the Florida Blockchain Task Force.

Florida’s legislature created the statewide Florida Blockchain Task Force to explore and develop a master plan for fostering the expansion of the blockchain industry in the state of Florida. Specifically, this task force studies if and how state, county, and municipal governments can benefit from a transition to a blockchain-based system for recordkeeping, data security, financial transactions, and service delivery and identifies ways to improve government interaction with businesses and the public.

The Governor, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and the Chief Financial Officer will be appointing the members of this task force. On July 12, 2019, Senate President Galvano appointed Pollack, who also serves as the Chair of the Florida Bar Business Law Section’s Blockchain taskforce, as the Florida Blockchain Task Force’s first member. The task force is set to have its first meeting on Monday, September 23 in Tallahassee.
