Eric Adams Appointed to the Board of Directors of Pepin AcademiesEric S. Adams, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Tampa office, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Pepin Academies, a non-profit charter school organization that serves students with specific learning and learning-related disabilities in Hillsborough and Pasco counties.

Eric was elected to his position by the Board of Directors, and will begin his term as a member of the Pepin Academies Hillsborough County board on June 1, 2020. As a member of the board, he will assist Pepin Academies in its mission to empower students with learning disabilities to maximize their potential in a positive and therapeutic educational environment. Eric, who has also served on the board of directors for Bay Area Legal Services, Big Brother Big Sisters of Tampa and Tampa Connection, will work with his fellow board members to serve the needs of the Tampa Campus, which also features a comprehensive transition program designed for young adults aged 18 to 22. The program offers on-site career training through community partnerships such as TPepin’s Hospitality Centre, Publix Super Markets, Moffitt Cancer Centers and the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office.

Established in 1999, Pepin Academies are 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit, tuition-free, public charter schools that serve students with specific learning and learning related disabilities. According to the organization, it educates students in grades 3 – 12, and also offers the transitional, job training program for students 18 to 22-years-old, with the primary focus on ensuring no child falls through the cracks. Today, Pepin Academies has grown to serve over 1000 students, with Hillsborough County campuses in Tampa and Riverview and a campus in New Port Richey, which serves students in Pasco County.
