Shutts & Bowen LLP Miami partner Aleksey Shtivelman, Board Certified in International Litigation & Arbitration, attended the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) C5 Fraud, Asset Tracing & Recovery Conference on September 29 in Miami. Now in its 14th year, the conference brought together leading lawyers, investigators, and enforcement professionals from across the globe to address the most pressing issues in cross-border asset recovery.

“Conferences like this are helpful because we all share practical strategies for tracing assets across multiple jurisdictions and converting judgments into tangible results,” said Aleksey. “That’s where much of my work lies—helping clients decipher complex structures, enforce judgments, and protect investments in high-stakes, cross-border disputes.”

Fluent in Russian and Spanish, Aleksey regularly represents multinational corporations, financial institutions, and investors navigating disputes across Latin America, Africa, Europe, the CIS countries, and beyond. He focuses his practice on international arbitration and litigation with an emphasis on energy, infrastructure, and mining disputes. The firm’s International Litigation & Arbitration group regularly represents clients in asset recovery, enforcement of arbitral awards and judgments, sovereign disputes, and high-value cross-border commercial cases.
