
Shutts & Bowen LLP Miami Partner Heidi H. Tandy presented at the American Bar Association (ABA) International Law Section's 2026 London Fall Conference, held at Mansion House in London.
Heidi co-presented the CLE course “Big Data, AI and Privacy” with Rachael Vaughn Ray, Products Counsel at Booking.com Holdings. The presentation examined how the growing integration of AI into business and legal systems is reshaping privacy and data protection obligations, addressing developments in the legal and technological landscape and practical considerations for strengthening Terms of Use and Privacy Policies to mitigate corporate risk.
Heidi also co-presented the CLE course “Fair Use, Fair Dealing or Copyright Unfairness” with Dr. Eden Sarid, Assistant Professor of Law at King’s College London. The course examined how the U.S. and other jurisdictions approach Fair Use, Fair Dealing and AI training involving third-party copyrighted works, highlighting differences among national laws and the challenges of achieving greater consistency in the globally accessible digital environment.
The ABA International Law Section’s 2026 London Fall Conference featured sessions on artificial intelligence, arbitration, finance, human rights, litigation, privacy, trade and other international law topics, as well as opportunities for attendees to connect and exchange ideas with legal professionals from around the world.
