Jake Monk, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Miami office, has been elevated to Co-Chair of the International Claim Association’s (ICA) Law Committee at the 2025 Annual Education Conference, with his multi-year term to commence in January 2026.
The Law Committee is responsible for legal issues related to Life, Health and Disability claims, publishes reports on insurance legal issues, and provides legal educational sessions at the ICA’s Annual Education Conferences. At the 2025 conference, Shutts and Bowen also coordinated and sponsored the Continuing Legal Education accreditation for the legal sessions.
The Annual Education Conference was held in September 28-30, 2025, in New Orleans, La. At the conference, more than 1,700 claims professionals from 100+ member organizations gathered to explore the future of claims transformation. For more than a century, the International Claim Association (ICA) has supported professionals in the life, health, and disability insurance claims industry by providing essential industry research, a variety of educational certifications, and multiple forums for sharing ideas and resources.
