The Daily Business Review recently released an analysis of partner promotions between 2020 and 2022 across law firm offices in Miami-Dade County, Broward County and Palm Beach County. Among the eight Florida-founded Am Law 100 and Second Hundred law firms, Shutts & Bowen LLP ranked fifth for most diverse partner promotions.
Diverse attorneys at Shutts accounted for seven of the past 11 partner promotions – totaling 64% between 2020 and 2022. This information is echoed in the 2021 Diversity Scorecard, where Shutts was ranked in the top 50 firms for minority partner representation in South Florida, as well as minority partner representation for equity partners and nonequity partners nationwide.
The DBR’s analysis of diverse partner promotions addressed diversity in terms of race, ethnicity and gender, and included separate analyses to identify the promotions of racial and ethnic minorities, women, and Black attorneys. Firms were also instructed to include partners of underrepresented sexual orientations and gender identities when totaling the number of diverse attorneys they promoted.
