
Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Fort Lauderdale Managing Partner and Co-Chair of the Government Law Practice Group Sidney C. Calloway was recently featured as a speaker during the National Business Institute’s (NBI) Land Use and Zoning in Florida: From Application to Appeal Virtual Seminar on July 22nd, 2026.
The six-hour CLE-credited course focused on the land use and zoning approval process, guiding attendees through the legal and practical considerations involved in obtaining development approvals, addressing constitutional issues and navigating appeals. It also examined current legal developments and best practices for representing clients before local governments.
Sidney's presentations, "Applications and Approval Procedures: Variances, Conditional Use Permits and More" and "Hot-Button Land Use Issues and Case Law," explored the legal and practical aspects of land use and zoning approvals, as well as recent legal developments and case law affecting land development and local government decision-making.
